“I want to create an artistic space in my paintings that allows the viewer the freedom to connect – with their own reality. The picture becomes a projection surface for the subconscious. For me, a picture is good when it opens an inner door and confronts me with myself and at the same time keeps me moving – physically, but also in my perception.”

Uncertainty often lurks behind the challenges
– a promise, hope, perhaps happiness in the distance
on the one hand, or latent danger and threat
– a seductive risk!

“Annette Selle’s works are always on the edge of abstraction.”
“They are figuratively legible, but above all unfold their abstract-compositional dimension.”
“The pictures shape time and space. The artist uses her colours above all as deeply emotional carriers of mood.”

Annette Selle’s work has been shown continuously in exhibitions since 1999 and her paintings are part of numerous art collections.
She studied painting at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
In 2016, she became a senior lecturer at the JugendKunstschule Atrium in Berlin.
Annette Selle is a member of the Netzwerk Frauenmuseum Berlin and the Brandenburger Verband Bildender Künstler.
